Bosch Will End In Season 7 As The Longest Series On Amazon

The Amazon Prime Video platform announced the renewal of “Bosch” for its 7th and final season. The decision was made with a lot of anticipation, before the premiere of the 6th season, which arrives this year, but still has no release forecast. The goal is to give the producers and screenwriters time to prepare a suitable ending to the plot.

Thus, “Bosch” will end in 2021 as the longest series on Amazon, with 70 episodes in all – each season has 10 episodes. Although it does not disclose data, Amazon used to claim that the attraction represents one of its biggest audiences, alongside “The Man in the High Castle”, which ended last November.

“Bosch” is the creation of Eric Overmyer (creator of “Treme”) and is based on the eponymous character in Michael Connelly’s books, who since 1992 have sold almost 50 million copies worldwide.

The protagonist is a Los Angeles police detective, played by Titus Welliver (from “Lost”), who engages in plots inspired by the classic atmosphere of cinema noir. In his first five seasons, he has investigated the murder of a Hollywood producer who laundered money for the mafia, chased a serial killer, became the prime suspect in a crime, had to solve the murder of a lawyer who defended black victims of police brutality and also dealing with your own past.

“I am proud of what we have accomplished with ‘Bosch’,” said writer Michael Connelly in a statement. “It’s bittersweet, but all good things come to an end, and I’m happy that we can get out the way we want to. This started seven years ago with showrunner Eric Overmyer and me writing the pilot. We plan to write the last episode together as well. We will leave behind the longest running program on Amazon so far, and it will remain there to be discovered by new viewers. This is incredible to me. Another thing is that we wouldn’t have made it this far without Titus Welliver. There could be no better actor to play that role, ”he added.

In addition to Titus Welliver, the cast includes Lance Reddick (also from “Lost” and “Fringe”), Jamie Hector (series “The Wire”), Amy Aquino (series “Being Human”) and Madison Lintz (who was the girl Sophia in “The Walking Dead”).
