Karch Kiraly
Karch Kiraly is an American volleyball player who is known as one of the best in history. In 1998, he was inducted into both the Volleyball Hall of Fame and the USA Volleyball Hall of Fame.
Karch Kiraly started his career as a setter but later switched to setting and spiking, positions which he played throughout his career with great success. His accomplishments include winning three gold medals at the Olympics (1984, 1988, 1992), 13 Pan American Games titles and seven World Championships medals including four golds (1978-79; 1986; 1990). He also earned two silver medals at the FIVB Men’s World Cup Finals (1982; 1985).
Wilma Rossi
Wilma Rossi was an Italian volleyball player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics. She played for Italy’s national team from 1982 to 1994, winning four European Championships (1984, 1986, 1988, 1990) and one World Championship title (1990). She also participated in the 1992 Summer Olympics, where Italy finished fourth.
Misty May-Treanor
Misty May-Treanor is a retired American volleyball player who won two gold medals at the Summer Olympics, in 2004 and 2008. She played for the United States national team, winning five World Championship titles with them between 1994 and 2002.
May-Treanor retired after winning her second gold medal in Beijing in 2008. She was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2012 alongside her partner Kerri Walsh Jennings who also retired that year after they won their third straight Olympic gold medal together at London 2012
Gabrielle Reece
Gabrielle Reece began playing for the United States women’s national volleyball team from 1986 to 2000, where she won gold medals at both the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, as well as a silver medal at the 2000 Sydney Games.
Flo Hyman
Flo Hyman was a member of the United States women’s national volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 1985 FIVB World Championship. She played college volleyball at UCLA, where she was an All-American in 1982.
After her playing career ended, Hyman became a coach and had stints with several teams, including Santa Clara University and the USA National Team, from 1996–2006.
