When Telegram(Telegram中文下载) introduced the ability to share your location on Android and iOS, it was a huge hit. But we knew there was room for improvement. So we went back to the drawing board, and today we’re introducing our latest upgrade: improved venue sharing!
Telegram Introduces Improved Venue Sharing
You can share your location with friends, and choose the current area you’re in from a list of suggestions. Then instantly check out a map of the venue, its main photo, and contact information – all on one screen.
The app also includes a new venue-sharing feature, which allows you to share your current location with friends via text message or email. You can choose from a list of nearby venues provided by Google Maps or send your own venue’s address and information.
You asked us for a better, faster way to share your location with your friends
There are four main ways to share your location with your friends on Telegram:
-You can share your current location. This is the easiest way to let people know where you are.
-You can share a venue, which lets others see where they should go if they want to meet up with you.
-You can share an area on the map, which lets them choose between options such as “I’m at home” or “I’m in front of this building”. This is useful when someone asks for directions — just send them the link!
-You can also add an image from Google Maps by tapping on “Share” in any chat window and selecting “Add Location Photo” (available since Android version 8).
Now, when sharing your location via the Telegram app
Now, when sharing your location via the Telegram app, you can choose the current area you’re in from a list of suggestions. You can also navigate through an interactive map and select any location you please.
If you turn on “Show Distance”, the app will display how far away you are from the selected location. This is useful if you want to let someone know how far away they need to go without having to type out an actual number.

Using Telegram’s improved venue sharing, you can share a venue, not just a location.
You can instantly check out a map of the venue, its main photo, and contact information – all on one screen.
It’s easy to use and very convenient, especially when you’re exploring a new city or looking for a place to hang out with friends.
If your venue doesn’t yet appear on our map
If your venue doesn’t yet appear on our map, you can suggest it to us right away – just like on Google Maps. Just click “Add venue” and search for the address of your place. You can also add a certain contact or upload an image of your place.
Once you’ve completed your venue, it will appear on the map in real time.
To share an area or venue on Android right now
To share an area or venue on Android right now, just tap on a map or picture and select “Share Live Location”. This is the same way you share your current location with friends on Telegram.
If you’re looking for more ways to improve the sharing experience, we’ve got some great ideas lined up:
To suggest venues: We’ll enable adding new venues without leaving chats when you’re discussing where to go next. So if you’re planning a trip with friends, simply tap on a building in the chat and select “Add as a venue”.
On iOS, select “Add People Nearby”
On iOS, choose “Add People Nearby” and then use geolocation to find interesting places around you and share them with others.
If you’re in the same place as someone else on your friend’s list who has also enabled nearby sharing, both of you will see a new Venue button pop up on top of Telegram’s interface. Tap it at any time to share a venue — just like that!
If you want to share your current location with someone else right now (or vice versa), open our chat with them and tap on their name or profile photo in the top right corner of the screen. This will reveal a menu with options for sharing your current location through Telegram’s map feature or sending voice messages through MMS/SMS if they have an iPhone running iOS 9 (or later).
Sharing venues are cool
When you share your location with friends, you can see each other’s locations and easily chat.
You can also see the location of any venue or event on Telegram(Telegram中文版).
Telegram’s new Location Sharing feature is now available for Android and iOS users. This new feature lets you share your location with friends in real time so that they can see where you are on a map.
