If there is a problem with spark plugs or they are too old, they can cause a misfire. Except for the plugs, air filters and fuel filters are important things that need to be checked while doing an engine tune-up. 

Some other things that you might need to do while performing an engine tune-up may include examining the PCV valve and replacing it if needed. You might need to replace the oxygen sensor, spark plug wires, distributor cap, etc. Overall, an engine tune-up will increase the life of your engine and prevent major expenses. It will also increase fuel efficiency.

Regular Oil Changes

Did you know that the oil in your vehicle needs to be changed every 30,000 miles? Many people forget this step. Old oil can prove damaging to your vehicle. Changing the oil can be challenging if you have no idea what you are doing. There are three steps that you need to take for changing the oil, which include

  3. Insert new oil

You must also know which oil you should use for your vehicle. For this purpose, you need to know the oil viscosity and your vehicle’s mileage. 

Check Air Filters

As we are talking about car maintenance, air filters are something you don’t want to forget. On average, you should check your vehicle’s air filter once a month. If the filter appears obstructed or dirty, you should change it as soon as possible.

Now, how to know if the air filter needs to be replaced? You just need to check the inside of the filter by illuminating it with light. Check if you can see the light from outside the filter. If you can’t see the light from outside, this indicates that the filter is too clogged and dirty; it needs to be replaced right at that point. 

Changing the air filters also requires some skill and specific tools. So, if you are not an expert and don’t know what to do, take your vehicle to a service station. Changing the air filter will not cost you a lot but it will surely save you from other heavy expenses. 

Check tyres regularly

Tyres maintenance is another important step in maintaining your vehicle. Tyres operate along with the suspension system to keep your vehicle balanced. Check the Lights

Check windshield wipers

Check the Brakes
