Christopher is a Newfoundlander who lives in St Mary’s Bay. Christopher Pratt is the Newfoundlander he is. In 1952, he began to paint. He studied medicine at Mount Allison University, New Brunswick in 1953. There he developed an interest in the arts.
Mary, his wife, also met at that university. Pratt earned his bachelor’s in Fine arts in 1961. Pratt has also done other work related to construction, which helped him improve his measuring skills. From there, he started his career as a curator for two years.

His first work, a screen print called Boat in the Sand, was included in National Gallery’s fourth exhibit. He began his career in 1965 with a solo show at Memorial University. He then held many solo and in collaboration exhibitions in many other countries.
He was an ARCA Associate of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. He also became a member of Canada’s Society of graphic art, and was part of the Canadacouncil of visually arts juries.
