What happened to Allen Premium Outlets
On May 6, 2023 at 3:36 pm, a shooter opened fire on the crowd outside of an Allen Premium Mall. The eyewitness said that he shot dozens of random shots at anyone. In less than five minutes, police were at the Outlets after receiving a call. In this bloody incident, eight people died and seven others were hospitalized. The officer shot the shooter as well.
What did Mendoza Sofia Daniela and Mendoza Sofia do at the time the shooting took place?
Mendoza Sofia, a second-grader aged 8 years and Daniela Mendoza, a fourth-grader aged 11 years are two of the victims who were killed in this tragic event. The girls were with their mother Ilda in the mall when the shooting occurred. The two girls who were taking cheerleading lessons at Wylie Elite have passed away, but their mother remains in critical condition.
What was the impact of Mendoza Sofia’s death on the community?
Krista Wilson, the administrator at the school, described Daniela and Sofia as students who would brighten up any room. Krista Wilson said that our hearts were broken after hearing the news and that words could not express how much we will miss them. We are praying for the Mendoza family and the families of the victims.
According to Wylie Elite where they attended classes, both of them were nieces of a team member. This week, to honour them, all the students wore yellow as their favorite colour.
GoFundMe has also been created by their aunt for Daniela and Mendoza Sophia to support the family. She asked for prayers and stated that nothing could fill the gap the girls left. Please pray also for their father who has been through so much and is still incredibly resilient.
What are the other victims in this incident?
According to the investigators, there were two other victims identified in this incident. They are Kyu Song Cho (37 years old) and Cindy Cho (35 years old), who both lived in Dallas.
Daniela and Mendoza Sofia also died.
Aishwarya thatikonda was a 26-year-old engineer from McKinney in Texas. She was at the mall with a friend when the incident happened. Her friend was taken to hospital after suffering injuries, while Aishwarya died.
Elio Cumana Rivas, 32 years old, from Dallas, was also injured in this incident.
James Cho, the son of Kyu Cho and Cindy Cho, was also murdered at age three.
