4. Decorative Lighting

    • String lights or fairy lights

5. Natural Lighting

  • Purpose: Utilizes sunlight to illuminate indoor spaces.

    • Mirrors to reflect light

6. Smart Lighting

  • Purpose: Combines technology with lighting for control and automation.
  • Features:

    • Voice-activated lights (with systems like Alexa or Google Home)
    • Motion-sensor lighting

7. Mood or Decorative Layering

  • A mix of ambient, task, and accent lighting to create a cosy, layered lighting scheme.

Tips for Effective Home Lighting Design:

  • Living Room: Use a mix of ambient lighting (chandeliers), task lighting (floor lamps), and accent lights (spotlights on decor).
  • Kitchen: Use bright overhead lights, plus task lighting (under cabinets) and pendant lights (over islands). 
  • Bedroom: Lack of harsh overhead lighting, besides bedside lamps for reading and dimmable lights for winding down.
  • Bathroom: Bright task lighting around mirrors, with softer ambient lights for general use.
  • Hallways and Stairs: Recessed lights, wall sconces or LED strips for visibility and decoration.
