Gallery Walls – a Perfect Lighting Solution

Pictures that are effectively lit are unusual and elegant interior decorations. Illumination for paintings and mirrors can be organized by various types: from wall lamps, spotlights, gallery walls, and special gallery lamps to floor lamps. It all depends on what effect you want to achieve and whether you want the lighting to also have useful value.

When designing the lighting of art objects, the placement of the removable walls, as well as the color and intensity of the emitted light, are of great importance. This will determine the final effect, i.e. the exposure of the image.

How to choose exhibition walls?

If you want to create a stylish exhibition, then using wall modular for painting illumination is the best choice. Lamps for pictures will help emphasize their beauty and originality. It is worth selecting the source of light with extreme caution because choosing the wrong models or installing them in the wrong place can harm the appearance of the canvas. So how to correctly organize lighting for paintings?

The first thing you should pay attention to is the type of fixing the artwork to the wall. There are three types of fastening:

  • on cables;
  • art wall panels;
  • on beams.

If a canvas or a picture hangs on beams, it is best to use multifunctional spots. Such lamps give bright, directional light and are great for highlighting both the entire picture and its individual section. You can install spots at any convenient distance from the canvas or painting. Window display lights are also a good choice. If the picture is placed on gallery walls, you don’t have to think about additional lighting as this structure will do this for you!  Besides, the modular wall cost will surprise you. If the canvas is hanging on cables against the wall, then the best choice would be special thin wall lamps that are installed on the surface above the picture.

Features of portable walls

There is also a very wide selection of finished products. When the lamps are off, removable walls look like the most ordinary paintings, but as soon as the backlight is turned on, everything changes. The image acquires volume and depth, and individual elements can look very realistic.

The size of the paneled wall art is determined depending on the purpose. The best option is considered if the lamps take up 2/3 or 3/4 of the length of the canvas with a frame. If you need to illuminate only a work of art, then the light beam is chosen equal to the width of the picture without a frame. If the frame also needs to be illuminated, then the lamps must be chosen equal to the length of the canvas along with the frame. As for the prices, the modular wall cost is a winning solution: once you pay for the construction, you may use it endless times!

Why do you need art wall panels?

Lighting for a picture will not replace chandeliers or sconces that play a major role in illuminating rooms. However, the paneled wall art can handle the problem! It preserves the natural shades of the artwork, makes the image clearer, and allows you to see even the smallest details. The main functions of exhibition walls are:

  • drawing attention to art canvases;
  • highlighting small details;
  • creation of original design interiors;
  • space zoning;
  • extreme usability – you can use them for dozen times.
  • creating a comfortable environment.

Finally, well-designed gallery walls will additionally illuminate places where there is not enough light during the day and will work on premises without windows.
