Introduction for CCIE

The full name of CCIE is Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert, which is an expert-level certification exam launched by Cisco in 1993. It is recognized as the most authoritative certification in the IT industry. There are 4 categories of CCIE exams.

  • 1.Enterprise
  • 2.Service Provider(SP)
  • 3.Security
  • 4.Data Center
  • 5.Collaboration
  • 6.DEVNet

Among them, Enterprise is changed from Routing & Switching. Because it is the foundation, it started at the earliest and continues to this day. At present, most CCIEs in the world are R&S. Those who have obtained other types of CCIE certificates have also obtained R&S certification. If you want to pass the R&S CCIE, you need to go through the following steps

First Step:

Finding a better training course system is an essential step. The last course from NA to IE in the system, although it is impossible to understand it all at once, but with the deepening of learning, your understanding of the network will gradually deepen, and under the guidance of the teachers, you will not take detours. The network concepts and models in mind are correct. If you feel that your understanding ability is very strong and your self-learning ability is super strong, then you can study by yourself, but someone with the speed of learning is always better than pondering on your own. I have seen a few people who taught themselves CCNA, and then went to learn CCNP directly. As a result, during the experiment, the two directly connected interfaces were configured with IP addresses that are not on the same network segment. This kind of error occurs due to the confusion of the self-learning CCNA concept. And affecting the progress of CCIE learning really outweighs the gains.

Second Step:

Carefully read a few reference books. If you say that going to the study class is to lead yourself into the right track of learning CCIE, then reading the reference books carefully is to catch the express train of learning CCIE. This process is very difficult. Formal study can form an overall conceptual system in your mind, which is equivalent to setting up a skeleton, but the detailed content has to be experienced by yourself in reading books.

The CCIE exam does not need to obtain the CCNA/CCNP certificate first, you can directly take the CCIE certification exam, so you can take the CCIE exam directly as long as you have enough skills. The CCIE test is divided into two parts: written exam and laboratory exam. Candidates must pass the written exam before they are eligible to take the laboratory exam. You can register for the written exam at any Sylvan test center. The laboratory part of the test must be taken at Cisco. There are two test centers in Hong Kong.

The CCIE certification is divided into two states: active and inactive. In order to allow CCIE to track new technologies and maintain the expert level of CCIE, Cisco has to re-certify every two years after passing the CCIE certification, otherwise you still have your CCIE number, but your status will change from active to inactive, and the corresponding rights granted by Cisco will be gone. Strict certification rules make CCIE one of the most valuable certificates in the IT industry, and certainly one of the most respected and hardest to obtain. Obtaining CCIE certification not only proves that your technology has reached the expert level and is recognized and affirmed by the industry, but also a symbol of honor and a manifestation of self-worth. Obtaining CCIE certification becomes every network technician’s dream. There are roughly two ways to learn and obtain CCIE certification

First, self-study. In order to obtain CCIE certificationthrough self-study, you must have more than two years of work experience, sufficient time and energy, and a perfect experimental environment. In addition, the most important thing is that you must have perseverance and do not give up faith. Second, attend training. Find a genuine training institution to participate in training in spare or concentrated time, make full use of the experimental equipment of the training institution, and in a good learning atmosphere, students can not only exchange technology with each other, but more importantly, they can also get the guidance of CCIE experts from the training institution, to improve learning efficiency, which is a way to get twice the result with half the effort.
