Mookuthi Amman sold for a whooping price of Rs. 25 crores to Disney+ Hotstar

RJ Balaji and Nayanthara starrer Mookuthi Amman will be released on Disney+ Hotstar during Diwali 2020. The trailer of Mookuthi Amman has garnered a lot of interest, and the promotions done by RJ Balaji has increased the expectations among fans. Mookuthi Amman was sold to Hotstar for a whooping sum of Rs. 25 Crores. This is the highest ever business done by any Nayanthara movie.

The Tamil version of the movie was sold for Rs. 21 crores while the Hindi rights and audio fetched another 4 crores of income. Mookuthi Amman’s was shot at a budget of 15 to 18 crores, and hence the makers have made a solid profit of 7 crores. This is one of the profitable movies of 2020. This film is profitable even though it’s released on OTT platforms.

Over the past few days, wishes have been flowing in for the film from noted Tamil cricketers such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Thangarasu Natarajan in promoting this movie. This movie will be released on Disney+ Hotstar and Star Vijay simultaneously on Diwali day 14th November 2020.

The plot of Mookuthi Amman revolves around a family that gets blessed to meet their deity Amman. Nayanthara plays the Amma while RJ Balaji plays a pivoted role; they both combine to abolish the fake godmen spread in today’s world. The entire movie will be filed with satirical dialogues.

Mookuthi Amman is all set to release on the Disney+Hotstar platform, on the 14th of November, as a Diwali release. The film is said to focus on when a family is blessed to meet their deity in person, who has come down from the heavens to abolish fake godmen raging in today’s world. Nayanthara plays the role of the titular goddess, while RJ Balaji will be seen as a reporter.
