Everyone has a different experience while attempting the real PTE exam. I am sharing with you, my own experience of this exam. When I decided to give this exam, I was very much confident that I would score good marks because I was good at my studies and the English language also. So, I have given the exam without any preparation. That was my first mistake. We should not underestimate any situation. On my 1st attempt, I got a very low score. But I decided to prepare well for the next attempt and took it seriously.
I made a study plan on how to start preparation. I analyzed my weak points and write them down. I took the help from YouTube to increase my vocabulary and pronunciation and started reading novels so that I can enhance my knowledge. I was weak in speaking English and in summary writing skills. I started a daily practice of speaking by standing in front of a mirror. I called the customer care executive regarding filling out any complaints so that I can speak English as much as possible. It improved my self-confidence. In the 2nd attempt, I scored more marks than the 1st attempt, but it was not good. I felt discouraged but did not lose hope and again started preparing.
I took it very seriously and decided to score good marks in the 3rd attempt. I started the practice of doing PTE Mock Test and revision of previous question papers. I paid attention to listening to the news, songs, watched movies in English, and tried to read the dialogue which had been highlighted on the screen so that I can improve my listening skill and pronunciation. It improved my speed to answer the questions. I did practice compound and complex sentences so that could write the summary well. But I got the almost same result. There was not too much difference in score with earlier attempts.
I was discouraged badly and thought that I could not clear this exam. I decided not to attempt any more tests and utilize my energy to find out some other job. But one day when I met my old friend who was working in some other country after clearing the PTE test, again encouraged me to give a test. Then I made up my mind to take the exam again.
I started for the 4th attempt as I was giving this exam 1st time. I made a study plan and strictly followed it. I forgot all my previous defeats. Did practice so many mock tests, so that I could overcome my weaknesses. I learnt Time Management and focused to complete every question at a particular given time. Did a lot of work hard and secured a score of 70 marks on the PTE test. It was my best score in the previous attempts. But I was not satisfied with my score and wanted to increase it.
I decided to take the last chance as I wanted to score 90 marks in each section. I took the paid course from PTE Mock Tests. With the help of a teacher, I got to know my mistakes. I did a lot of practice of Scored Mock Tests, revised the previous question, and finally got the desired result. It brought a lot of happiness to me. That time I realized that Work Hard never goes in vain. But as a human, we have to never lose hope and accept defeat.
