New Gambling Games to Try in 2023

While gambling hasn’t changed much over the course of the last century, there are at least a few new innovations that have become hugely successful in recent years. It is true within gambling nomenclature, that a classic really is a classic for good reason.

Most people are quite happy to stick to the classics and there’s nothing wrong with that. However, there are many newcomers to the world of online gambling that would prefer to try their hand at something a little newer, a little more modern.

Crash

Crash is probably the newest game on this list, and even though it’s only been around since 2014, it’s become one of the most popular casino games played in recent years. Since being launched, the game has quickly been adopted into the standard foray of games on offer by most online casinos and is enjoyed by lots of players the world over.

Crash gambling was inspired by the early launch of cryptocurrencies and is loosely based on the various rises and crashes that most of these currencies experienced in the early days of their conception.

Essentially, the game is based on a multiplier that keeps rising in the center of your screen. Your job is to place a bet before this multiplier starts counting up and try and determine when the best chance is to cash out before the multiplier crashes and drops its value. It’s simple enough in practice and wildly fun, despite sounding quite linear in its design.

The game will have you guessing and hoping for hours on end. And, because there’s a high chance of winning at least something, the RTP (Return To Player) is quite high, making it potentially a profitable game to bet on. The rules are quite straightforward too. Basically, whatever amount you bet is multiplied by the multiplier decide to close your bet on. This is how much you’ll win. You can close your bet at any time before the multiplier drops (i.e. the crash), but if you fail to close your bet before then, you will lose your stake.

You’re bound to have lots of fun playing this game, and a lot of casinos now offer tournaments for the game as well, which means you can pit yourself against other players in real time which just adds to the excitement! It’s quite similar to trading on the stock market, at least in principle, and is often compared to trading on binary options, as it’s also time-based which at least reduces the variables of what a stock, or in this case a multiplier, will do.

Plinko

Plinko has been around since the 1980s and was originally invented on the famous game show, ‘The Price is Right’. The show was hugely popular back in the day and has never really been emulated since. However, Plinko has survived well beyond its original creator.

In essence, the game is based on a simplified version of the popular Japanese game, ‘Pachinko’. The basic rules of the game are quite straightforward. Essentially, the goal is to drop a round chip down a board that is made up of little pegs that block and bounce the chip in any variety of directions.

At the bottom of the board are a number of different holes, each with their own unique amount of cash written on them. Whichever hole the chip lands in is what you’ve won. However, some of the holes will have ‘0’, meaning you win nothing. The aim of the game is to try your best to avoid these, and get your chip into a hole that has the largest amount possible on it.

Despite being an entirely luck-based game, it’s actually quite fun and has also become quite popular over the years. It’s offered in a lot of online casinos and will keep you entertained for hours on end. The RTP is quite high, as depending on the board you’re playing with, the chances of winning at least something are reasonably high. There are cases of people winning over a million dollars on this game, as the stakes can get really high depending on how much you bet on your ball. However, it’s important to note that if you bet high on your ball, and lose, you lose your whole bet. If you have a tight bankroll, and don’t want to bet too much at a time, a good strategy is to play many bets at a lower cost, that way maximizing your potential to make a profit. While you can’t really play this game in any kind of tournament, it is still enjoyable by yourself.

Game Show Games

While the concept of game show games with gambling elements has been around since at least the 50s, it’s still considered a modern concept in the world of online gambling. Essentially, this allows you to play your favorite game shows for real money in the comfort of your own home.

Obviously the rules differ depending on the game show you’re playing, but all the classic ones are available and rules are always provided with the game, making them easy to understand and pick up quickly. Games like ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’, ‘Deal or No Deal’, and the pre-eminent ‘Monopoly’ are all available at many online casinos.

These are definitely as fun as the real games and the casinos often go to great lengths to recreate the actual setting of the game show sets themselves, making them feel a lot more immersive. If you’ve ever wanted to partake in one of your favorite game shows, now’s your chance. Due to the high popularity of these games, there’s a good chance that more will be added in the future, so keep checking up for new additions to online casinos to see if a game you’ve always wanted to try is available yet.
