New Snapshot Showcases Content Coming to Minecraft 1.19

A new snapshot was released for Minecraft this week, showcasing some features that we can expect with Minecraft 1.19. We’re not just hyped because we get to try out some of the new stuff. We’re also hyped because it means that we’re getting closer and closer to the final update.

One of the most anticipated features found in this update is the Deep Dark Biome. A new location found at the deepest depths of the world. So true that you can actually only reach the Deep Dark by heading to a Y level below 0. Your chances of finding this biome are by looking under mountains.

We’re unsure of how the terrain is going to be shaped as updated progress. What we do know is that it’s made up of Sculk Blocks, which are also new to Minecraft. No mobs are going to spawn in the Deep Dark, although there is a block to watch out for, and it’s called the Sculk Shrieker.

If they’re stepped on, they’ll become activated, as they’re a Redstone block.  When that happens, they have a chance of spawning the Warden, one of Minecrafts most innovative, and intimidating mobs yet. If the Warden appears, they’ll be hostile towards the player, and there’s some interesting mechanics about them.

Firstly, the Warden doesn’t have any sense of vision. Instead, they rely on vibrations to find the player, as well as their sense of smell. The reason that the Warden is so intimidating is because they have the highest health of any creature in Minecraft, currently sitting at 500 health points, otherwise seen as 250 Hearts.

Another location that can be found in the Deep Dark is the Ancient City, Minecrafts latest structure. Right now, you can expect to find some loot chests here, so keep an eye out for those.

There are probably many more snapshots to come before we see the full release of Minecraft 1.19. Hopefully, this version sees more support for modding, as things have been quiet since 1.16.5, and there’s a lot of speculation that modders are waiting for Minecraft 1.19 before updating all their mods. A lot of players are also going to wait until they can install Optifine, before jumping into this update.
