Gal Gadot – biography

Gal Gadot was born on April 30, 1985 in the city of Petah Tikva, Israel, in the family of engineer Michael Gadot and teacher Irit Weiss. The younger sister is Dana.

As a child, the future actress loved sports, enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball and tennis.

In 2004, 18-year-old Gadot became the winner of the Miss Israel contest, after which the young beauty was invited to appear in commercials, modeling agencies became interested in her.

In the same year, the girl represented Israel at the Miss Universe contest, but did not take prizes.

As it turned out years later, Gadot went to Ecuador against her will and made every effort to lose as quickly as possible. She was deliberately late for every event, rejected the outfits offered to her, and refused to put on makeup. As a result, the crown of beauty went to another girl, and a satisfied Gal went home.

Shortly after returning home, Gadot was drafted into the Israeli army and completed the compulsory two-year military service, becoming a novice combat training instructor.

After returning from the army, the future actress began studying law and international relations at the prestigious private college IDC Herzliya. The quote is taken from “Filmymeet

In 2007, Gadot made her film debut, playing the role of Miriam Elkayam in the Israeli TV series Dolls.

Thanks to this role, the girl was noticed by the casting director from England, who flew to Israel in search of a “Bond girl” for the next film about the legendary agent 007 “Quantum of Solace”. Seeing a photo of Gadot at a modeling agency, the British woman called her representative and invited the model to audition. However, the role ultimately went to Olga Kurylenko.

Some time later, Gadot successfully auditioned for the fourth Fast and the Furious for the role of Giselle Yashar. “I think the fact is that director Justin Lin was impressed that I served in the army, and he wanted to quickly find out how I handle weapons,” the actress explained the choice of director Justin Lin.

In 2008, Gal Gadot, after two years of relationship, married the developer Yaron Versano, who is 10 years older than her. The couple met in the desert, there was a kind of party for yoga lovers. Gal then served in the army and was selected for such events during her leave. In 2011 and 2017, the couple had daughters Alma and Maya. After Fast & Furious 4, which was released in 2009, Gadot played small roles in “Knight of the Day” (2010) with Tom Cruise and in “Mad Date” (2010) with Tina Fey and Steve Carell, and then again played Giselle in the fifth, sixth and seventh parts of Fast and the Furious.

Worldwide popularity came to the actress in 2016 thanks to the role of the superheroine Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) in Zach Snyder’s blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. For the starring role, the actress trained for six months every day for six hours and gained almost ten kilograms of muscle.

“God, who would have thought that I, a girl from a tiny corner of the earth, would end up in America as a superheroine ?!” – says Gadot.

In 2017, Gadot again played Wonder Woman in a solo film of the same name, which tells about the childhood and youth of the daughter of Zeus and the queen of the Amazons, as well as about the confrontation between Diana and her brother – the god of war Ares – during the First World War.

In the same year, Zack Snyder’s superhero blockbuster Justice League was released, where the roles of the superheroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman were again played by Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot.

In October 2020, the premiere of the new film “Wonder Woman: 1984” will take place, which takes place several decades before the events of the Justice League. The quote is taken from “Coolmoviez
