The Holy Trinity Explained

No matter where you go in the world, religious beliefs are a constant. Over the last several decades, however, religious beliefs in the Western world have started to lose ground as common truths.

Even though we’ve learned a lot about the world around us, we’re still looking for meaning and truth in the same way that our ancestors did. No matter where you fall on the spiritual spectrum, each of us has a sense of the divine, the sacred, and the holy.

But how do you go about understanding the Holy Trinity that drives both the religious and secular worlds?

Let’s take a look at everything you need to know.

An Overview of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

The Holy Trinity is the Christian belief in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father is seen as the creator, the Son is the manifestation of God in the earthly form of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit is the power and presence of God.

As demonstrated through the miracle of Jesus’s resurrection, the members of the Trinity are seen as united – being one God, acting in 3 distinct roles. As an overview of the Holy Trinity, it is important to understand the concept of the Trinity and its role in Christian belief.

The Holy Trinity is a tenet of the Christian faith which explains God as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three act in unity and unison to enact the will of God. The unity of the Trinity means God’s will is done in many areas of life.

It also serves to emphasize the fact that it is only through a relationship with Christ that access is available to God. Without Jesus, the connection of the Trinity to meet the needs of God’s people is incomplete. This a necessary reminder that the Christian faith is based on faith in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Scriptural Accounts of the Holy Trinity

The Holy Trinity is a concept that’s used to explain the Godhead or the three distinct persons in whom the one true God exists. It is a belief prevalent among Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, and Reformed Christian faiths. Scriptural accounts of the Holy Trinity’s found throughout the Old and New Testaments.

In the book of Genesis, God’s said to have been in a singular communion with Himself when creating the world. The New Testament speaks of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit existing together in the same God. It is in Matthew 3:16, which states that the three persons of the Godhead “came together” upon the baptism of Jesus.

Jesus also declared that the three are “one” (John 17:11). God in three persons is said to be of one divine essence, eternally existent, and perfectly equal yet distinct. The doctrine of the Trinity is central to Christianity, for it affirms that God has chosen to reveal Himself to us in this unique way.

You may show the world how you value being a Christian through different means. You can go to church, worshipping, or simply have a holy spirit necklace.
