What Are Some Ways You Can Promote a TikTok Account?

Only coming on the scene a couple years ago, TikTok has gone from a moderately popular app to one of the most popular online platforms in the world, with over 500 million monthly users.

TikTok is especially popular with the youth and influencers and organizations alike have put a tremendous amount of effort into making their presence on the platform as impactful as possible.

If you’re on TikTok, or intend to be, there are quite a few ways in which you can make your account more popular.

How Does TikTok Work?

TikTok is a video sharing platform where users can upload short, usually highly edited, clips of them doing any number of activities, ranging from cooking videos to mini vlogs.

Much of TikTok’s userbase were initially member or Musical.ly, a lip-syncing social media platform, so a lot TikTok’s content is very music focused. One of the most common types of videos on the app involves incorporating or adding-in edited versions of already existent content, either for the purpose of comedy or critique.

Videos can be liked, shared, and commented on like most other social media platforms and specific content creators can be followed if someone enjoys the types of videos they make.

How Can You Make Your TikTok Account More Popular?

While it may seem daunting at first, there are actually quite a few ways in which you can make your TikTok account more popular with other users. Some methods might require a bit of creativity, but others are pretty straightforward.

Try to Put a Unique Spin on Popular Content

There are a lot of different video types that are popular in the online space, but also on TikTok in particular. Cooking videos, travel vlogs, lip syncing, instructional videos, and comedic routines are all very popular varieties of content on the social media app.

It’s a good idea to dedicate your account to making types of content that will really resonate with everyday users on the platform, but the biggest issue you’re likely to encounter is saturation. You might be making popular content, but so are thousands, or maybe millions, of other creators.

The best way to overcome this problem is to put a unique twist to your account’s content that other people haven’t figured out how to do yet or require a specific set of skills only you and a handful of other people possess.

For instance, if you’re doing music-centric content, like lip syncing, you might want to add in some fast-paced editing to make your videos more interesting, rather than having your videos be largely unedited and slow-paced.

Be Consistent with Uploads

Anyone can upload the occasional video if they just want TikTok to be a hobby they dabble in once and a while, but if you’re really serious about maximizing your presence on the app, you need to upload consistently.

Uploading videos with some degree of regularity is an important part of keeping your intended audience interested in your content and your personality. If you’re constantly showing up in people’s feeds, it’s going to be much more likely that users following your content will share and talk about your videos as well as look forward to your uploads.

Consider Buying Likes

As a general rule, people are attracted to things they perceive as popular, which is definitely a trend you’ll notice on social media.

One way you can appear more popular, is to buy tik tok likes

There are quite a few services out there which specialize in social media promotion, with some of these promotional services dedicating their efforts exclusively towards getting their clients more likes on TikTok.

All you need to do is give them your account name and very quickly they’ll be able to increase the amount of likes you have on your videos. This will make your content appear more popular and users will subsequently be more interested in interacting with your account.

Develop Relationships with Other People on TikTok

Relationships form the basis for most meaningful human interaction and even though social media is thought of as being impersonal by many, the reality is this idea still holds true.

When on TikTok, it’s a really good idea to develop connections with other content creators. This is an important thing to do as it presents a litany of opportunities to boost your popularity and brand influence.

When you have a decent rapport with other TikTokers, it’s very likely you’ll be the recipient of shoutouts, collaboration opportunities, and useful advice for how to navigate the TikTok platform.

When you develop a notable presence on other people’s channels, the audiences that watch those channels are going to be inclined to take a look at your content as well and hopefully take a long-term interest in the type of videos you make.

Try and Maximize Engagement

When people think of popularity on social media, they usually get hung up on things like the number of views someone gets or the number of subscribers they have.

While these are important considerations, and the more of them you have, the better, they’re not actually what’s guaranteed to cement your success. It’s not necessarily uncommon for particular content creators to momentarily gain a huge amount of popularity, only to end up with a largely barren channel.

The #1 reason this occurs is due to a lack of engagement.

Engagement is classified as interaction with social media channels that isn’t passive in nature, such as likes, shares, and commenting, or in the case of TikTok, incorporating other people’s content into their own videos.

Engagement is important because it gives your audience an extra level of incentive to consistently look at your content and algorithms on TikTok are more likely to promote content they perceive as having high levels of engagement.

Becoming Successful on TikTok

If you don’t have much experience on TikTok, trying to develop a substantial presence might be an immensely confusing process; it might even seem impossible. However, you should rest easy knowing there are a lot of easy to navigate ways to gaurantee your success on the app.
