Inspired by the romance novels of Julia Quinn, this Season drama chronicles the life of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of eight in the powerful Bridgerton family, and her debut in the competitive London Regency marriage market (1813 and 1827). In the episodes of the first season, Daphne hopes to follow in her parents’ footsteps and marry for love, but when her older brother starts managing his suitors, the society magazine signed by the mysterious Lady Whistledown (Julie Andrews), puts in questioned the reputation of the young woman.
