What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Anaheim?
If you’re like most people, your answer will be “Disneyland.” Well, we’re here to tell you that’s not the only reason why you should take a trip to Anaheim. From historic sights to trendy bars, this city’s got everything!
Not sure what’s worth your while? We’ll make it easier for you: here are five things to do in Anaheim you absolutely need to get around to!
1. Visit Disneyland
It’s a cliche, but there’s no avoiding it: Disneyland is a must-visit. Since its opening in 1955, it has seen more visitors than any other theme park. Plus, it’s the only Disney park designed by Walt Disney himself.
Beyond its famous Sleeping Beauty castle, Disneyland has plenty of sights you need to see. From amusement rides to hanging out with Goofy, there’s something for everyone. And don’t forget about these Disneyland secrets!
2. Learn to Fly at Flightdeck
Want to see what it’s like to take the wheel of a real plane? Well, you can do so at the Flightdeck Flight Simulation Center. With some help from the instructors, you can learn to fly without leaving Earth.
If that’s not enough, you have several choices of experiences. One is a military flight simulator where you can take the controls of an F-16 Fighting Falcon. You can also see what it’s like to fly the Boeing 737!
3. Catch a Game at the “Big A”
Even if you’re not a baseball fan, you’ll want to make an exception for Angel Stadium. Known as the Big A, this is one of the oldest stadiums in the U.S. It’s also one of the few dual-purpose stadiums that’s still active.
Since 1966, the Big A has been home to Los Angeles Angels. With players like Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, the Angels are always fun to watch. You can also go on a tour that includes the dugout, the clubhouse, and more.
4. Head to Yorba Regional Park
If you enjoy nature, your Anaheim vacation must include a visit to the Yorba Regional Park. Its 140 acres contain over 400 picnic tables and a variety of bicycle trails that connect to the Santa Ana River Trail.
The park’s main attractions are the four lakes connected by streams. If you like the idea of fishing in the California sun, this is the place to be! While you’re here, check out the model boat sailing activities as well.
5. Shop in the Packing District
The Packing District is a restored historic area that hosts many outdoor events. The refurbished buildings include the Packard Car Showroom, Farmers Park, and the food hall best known as the Packing House.
If you’re looking for a good meal, the District has got you covered. There are many diverse cuisines on offer, from Indian to Vietnamese. And once you’ve had your fill, Disneyland is only a few minutes away!
