5 TIS Wheels to Watch out for in 2023
Founded in 2001 by serial entrepreneur Myles Kovacs, TIS Wheels is now one of the major power players in the aftermarket niche for high-quality off-road wheels. TIS is synonymous with high-end performance and durability topped by stylish finishes.
Immediately after they started operations, TIS started a collaboration with Monster Energy that continues to this day. The partnership provided the fledgling entity with lots of experience as it gradually made the leap from making off-road rims for trucks and pickup vans to lifted SUVs and passenger vehicles.
TIS is older than such brands as Fuel which currently are considered the benchmark in this fiercely competitive niche. It has gradually upped the ante on 2 fronts: bold designs and R&D, making it a formidable force to reckon with.
The company’s flagship product – the TIS 544 – was first shown off in public at SEMA 2017. The founder, Myles Kovacs, was also honored as the ‘person of the year’ at SEMA 2020.
If you are looking for a set of rims that will elevate your driving experience no matter where you are driving, you can safely opt for TIS Wheels.

5 top TIS Wheels models
All 5 models are crafted using aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum alloy.
⦁ TIS 544BM: The 544BM is, by far, the most renowned model from TIS Wheels. It was one of their first major bestsellers and has only gained more fans with each passing year. The 544BM is available in several sizes and finishes; however, if you are new to TIS rims, the 24-inch model in a classy milled black finish will do the trick.
This 1-piece cast aluminum rim is instantly recognizable by the mesh spoke design and the aggressive stance. The milling on the lip and the central face is minimal but effective. It is perfect for making a statement in style too.
This is perhaps the perfect rim for you if you drive lifted pickups like Fords F-150 & its variants, the Silverado, the RAM 2500 or any other similar model. Even if you personally dislike lifted cars, the model will still be hugely attractive.
It has a pronounced deep lip and a concave profile while also boasting pretty low weight. Overall, there’s not much to complain about the TIS 544BM!
⦁ TIS 544C: The 544C is pretty close in terms of design and aesthetics to the 544BM, although the spoke pattern is significantly different. The chrome 544C is the most handsome of the entire TIS Wheels’ 544 family and it suits every hard-driving off-road vehicle like a suede glove.
Agreed, this is an out-and-out off-road superstar. That said, you can go for the smaller models (think 16-20 inches) for city driving purposes too. The chrome does look extremely eye-catching when you fit it with your Porsche or a Lexus or a plain-Jane Honda.
At its heart, however, lies the outback. Go for the 24-inch TIS 544C for off-roading on your lifted pickups and vans. This is one model that always lives up to its reputation and is strong enough to conquer the worst terrain.
⦁ TIS 535B: The 17-inch 535B in satin black with milled spokes is pure eye-candy! But it is more than mere looks; it is a capable and highly damage-resistant. This is our personal favorite when it comes to style and stance. It takes a familiar 8-spoke template and adds several layers of extra muscle and bulks it up till it is fit even for monster modded trucks.
TIS Wheels has marketed the 535B in several sizes but the 17-inch model is the superstar of the entire range. It has been revamped several times and has always been popular with the serious off-roading crowd not just across the United States but over the world.
TIS also manufactures tires incidentally- in collaboration with Hercules. This specific rim goes splendidly with the broadest off-roading tires too. The satin black finish is further bolstered by the lighter lip accents that are milled.
⦁ TIS 535MB: The main difference between the 535MB and the preceding model is the difference in weight. This 535B is a lighter model coming in at a mere 32 pounds per rim while the 535MB is a bit heavier at 39 pounds. The 535MB also looks better on SUVs and all 4-WD vehicles, and its use is not restricted to vans and pickups only.
We have personally used a set of 17-inch TIS 535MB rims in a classy machined black finish. The smaller size gives you the freedom to use larger and bulkier tires which are of great advantage on tricky terrain, especially trails covered with ice and snow.
We had an aging Silverado, nothing fancy. But once we put on these rims, there was an instant transformation. It was as if the Silverado was 2 decades younger!
Go for the black machined glossy black models; they fit every vehicle plying the US. The price factor is also pretty attractive and won’t break the bank.
⦁ TIS 538MB: Of all the top models from the house of TIS Wheels, this is probably the most ubiquitous. Whenever clients are confused about the model, they fall back on the familiar 538MN, much like an old friend. It has led the sales charts for several years.
Lightweight, multiple bolt patterns, machined finish, and several offsets combined with a superlative load rating; this model has everything going for it. Try out the 17-inch model first before you go for the bigger rims.
Finally…
Please purchase original TIS Wheels from established retail outlets or from the company’s website. We would gladly recommend you to visit AudioCity USA in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This is a 34-year-old retailer which also offers discounts and passes on all bells and whistles unchanged.
