How to choose the right breast implant size with Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jejurikar

As an experienced plastic surgeon in Dallas, Dr. Sam Jejurikar receives a lot of questions from patients about breast augmentation surgery. Specifically, patients want to know how they can best determine the cup size they want for their upcoming procedure. Since there is not a single right answer for every patient, Dr. Jejurikar considers several factors when advising patients on the topic of cup size. He explains in a recent podcast called “Choosing the Right Breast Implant Size”, “Choose a size that matches your body. The procedure is not just about reaching a larger cup size or having bigger breasts.”

No Two Patients Are the Same

Patients naturally want to look their best after breast augmentation surgery, but the Texas-based physician often reminds them that their body is unique and that what works for their best friend may not work for them. Here is what he had to say about it in the podcast:

“Patients should understand that not every implant looks the same in every woman. Try not to base the decision about breast size based only on a model’s picture. Be sure to consider the various characteristics like skin thickness, breast size, and coverage of the implants. During the physical exam, I go over each of these considerations to help patients understand the larger picture of increasing their breast size.”

Part of Dr. Jejurikar’s consultation involves asking patients what their goals are and how they want to look post-operation, and how to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

How The Breast Augmentation Process Works

Breast width is the most important factor when determining how to choose the desired cup size. For example, very physically active women need to ensure they do not choose a new breast size that could slow them down during activity.

It is typical for physicians to utilize strategic implant sizing. This requires having patients take several photos of predilection and then clarifying their preference to look after breast augmentation.

Three-dimensional imaging allows plastic surgeons such as Dr. Jejurikar to give patients a realistic sense of how they will look post-surgery. That is because the images create dimensions that make it easier for them to visualize the changes. If this process is completed successfully, the client is satisfied with their new appearance.
