Qualcomm announces latest flagship SoC “Snapdragon 888”

  • Qualcomm Incorporated (HQ: USA) announced the latest flagship SoC “Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform” for 5Gcommunications on December 1, 2020 (local time).

Qualcomm announced its latest flagship SoC “Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform” in its keynote address, holding “Snapdragon Tech Summit Digital 2020” online on December 1.
The “Snapdragon 888” has a built-in third-generation 5G modem “Snapdragon X60 5G”, which is widely supported by major bands around the world in both millimeter-wave and Sub-6. It also supports 5G carrier aggregation and global multi-SIM, Dynamic Spectrum Share (DDS).

It also features the 6th Generation AI engine “Qualcomm Hexadon processor”, which has been completely redesigned. It performs ai processing of power savings and always-on operation, with the processing power of 26TOPS.

In addition, we introduce “Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming” which is equipped with game function. It is considered the most important upgrade in the GPU field and supports a frame rate of 144fps in addition to the introduction of updateable GPU drivers.

The image processing engine is equipped with the “Qualcomm Spectra ISP”, which has been 35% high-speed in previous generations. It is said to be able to process 2.7GP videos per second, 12MP / 120 photos.

Smartphones with the “Snapdragon 888” will also be available from ASUS and Xiaomi, Black Shark, OPPO, OnePlus, and LG Electronics.
