Species of hallucinogenic mushrooms

Types of magic mushrooms are divided according to their active substances. You can find the following types of psychedelics:
- Agaric containing psilocybin or psilocin.
- Amanitaceae, which contain hyoxyamine, muscazone, muscarine, tryptamines, bufotenin or ibotenic acid.
- Lycoperdaceae. This group includes unclassified types of psychomimetics.
Fly agaric
Fly agaric is very toxic because it contains ibotenic acid and muscimol. Some types of fly agaric contain muscarine, the use of even the smallest dose of which leads to death. The leader in the amount of this poison is the red fly agaric, the content of muscarine in it reaches 0.18%. Therefore, drug addicts choose only certain fly agarics. Dosage mushrooms are the most dangerous, as they accumulate ibotenic acid as they grow.
Psilocybes are also called LSD mushrooms because they have a similar narcotic effect. They contain the poisonous substances psilocybin and psilocin. When consumed, they are destroyed in the intestines, from where toxic substances are carried throughout the body.
Hallucinogenic mushrooms
Mushroom pickers used to call these mushrooms grebes. The narcotic and poisonous properties of psilocybes were known to many peoples, so in different areas, they have names that characterize themselves. In some cultures, decoctions of these mushrooms were used by shamans and sorcerers to enter a state of trance and “communicate with spirits.”
Magic mushrooms
Magic mushrooms are called hay dung beetles, common throughout the world. It can be found not only in the forest but also in pastures, on the banks of rivers, and even in flower beds. Penis envy mushrooms have a light brown cone-shaped cap.
The body of mushrooms contains a lot of psilocybin. Unlike other psychedelics, this mushroom can take effect in as little as 20 minutes, especially when consumed on an empty stomach. The effect is very similar to that of LSD. The physical dependence on the use does not occur, but at the same time, psychological attachment is quickly formed. Prolonged use leads to the disintegration of the personality and the development of mental illness.
Stropharia green
These are small mushrooms on a thin stalk whose favorite place of growth is manure and very acidic soils. For its properties, appearance, and place of growth among the people, it received a very figurative name – “poop’s bald head.” The mushroom cap is quite large and shiny, with small scales along the edges. There are also drug mushrooms – brown stropharia and hemispherical stropharia . Some people made ritual potions from it. The mushroom contains psilocybin, which leads to altered consciousness and hallucinations.
Smoking mushroom
Some types of fly agaric can be used by drug addicts for smoking, which is why they are called “smoking mushrooms.” This method of use is extremely toxic, but at the same time, it allows you to accelerate the narcotic effect of fly agaric.
Types of mushrooms and methods of consumption
In nature, there are about 190 species of hallucinogenic mushrooms, but the most common are species of the genus Psilocybe and Conocybe, growing in the climatic zones of Mexico and South America, Malaysia, and Indonesia. They are available for collection at the end of summer, but they can be harvested (dried) for future use. Mushrooms containing psilocybin can also be grown at home, making them very affordable.
