Netflix has not yet renewed “Sweet Magnolias” (“Sweet Magnolias” in its original language) for a second season, but since the romantic drama is based on the series of novels of the same name by Sherryl Woods – which is 11 books in total -, the writers they have plenty of material for a new installment of episodes, even more.
In itself, there is so much material that there could well be a third and fourth season of the series created by Sheryl J. Anderson and starring JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, Heather Headley, Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Carson Rowland, Justin Bruening, Chris Klein and Jamie Lynn Spears.
Sherryl Woods, who was also the executive producer of the fiction, explained on Twitter that the first season of “Sweet Magnolias” covers the first three books of its series, while Anderson added, in conversation with After Buzz TV, that “we really made a concerted effort in the writers room to honor the main events and characters and certainly the main themes and emotions that (Woods) had created.
In turn, Headley, the actress who plays Helen, shared her hopes for the renovation. “I hope the world allows us to have a season 2,” he told The Sun.
Meanwhile, Anneliese Judge, who plays Annie Sullivan, told ABC 11 that she sees many directions the show could take. “I think the opportunities are endless, and I’m very excited to pursue them and see where ‘Sweet Magnolias’ takes me.”
What Will Happen In Season 2 Of “Sweet Magnolias”?
Although Netflix has not yet confirmed a second installment of “Sweet Magnolias,” the end of the first installment leaves several questions that must be answered. Most important, who was in the car with Kyle when he was in the accident? After the fight at Jackson’s house, Kyle ran off, followed by Nellie, Annie, Ty, Simon and the rest of the group.
Perhaps the most obvious answer is Nellie, because at the time she was the closest to Maddie’s son. However, Annie is her best friend and crush. But why was Kyle driving his brother’s car? Also, where are the other young people?
The three ‘Magnolias’ were facing their own dramas when they received the accident alert. Maddie responded to her ex-husband’s proposal, Helen shared ice cream with Erik, and Danna Sue talked to Isaac about her parents.
Will Maddie get back with Bill? Will Danna Sue return with Ronnie or will she stay with Farmer Jeremy? Who are Issac’s real parents? Will Noreen return to Serenity? Will Helen fulfill her dream of being a mother? These are some of the questions that the second season of “Sweet Magnolias” must answer.
