Middle-earth needs its inhabitants back. Amazon’s new series has vast landscapes, posh elf cities, and charming shires like Peter Jackson’s films, but it is set thousands of years in the past. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has an all-new cast of characters, some of whom were inspired by Tolkien’s works and others who were created just for the game. The elves (the ones with pointed ears) have made the cross- franchise leap. That’s one perk of living forever. You can watch this worth-watching show on 123 movies for free.
Galadriel (Morfydd Clark)
She’s a movie star, so you’ve probably seen her before. Galadriel in The Fellowship of the Ring is not the ethereal and preternaturally blonde version of the character that was portrayed by Cate Blanchett in Peter Jackson’s trilogy. After witnessing the murder of her brother at Sauron’s hands, Galadriel is driven by a desire for vengeance. She is a bold, talented soldier who has traveled the globe to wipe out Sauron. The other elves do not share her continued anxiety about his whereabouts.
Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker)
In The Rings of Power, Gil-galad is king of the elves and presides over a period of hard-won, fragile peace. Too bad for Gil-galad (and the rest of Middle-earth). He just can’t escape the notion that something is off. It’s possible that sending Galadriel to Valinor, where she’ll live forever, isn’t the greatest solution. This season is available on 123 movies for free.
Elrond (Robert Aramayo)
This time with improved hair, it’s a familiar face. Elrond is a half-elf with high expectations placed upon him. His father was a hero who saved Middle Earth, but his brother chose death and founded Nmenor. Elrond has decided to become immortal and is now trying to figure out how to spend his newfound free time; in the pilot episode, he is composing speeches for the elf king.
Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova)
Arondir, an elf soldier stationed in the Southlands, is a new addition to Middle-earth. It’s a thankless task. Since humans are on the side of Sauron, the elves don’t put much stock in their words. The elves are not liked by humans because of the latter race’s tendency to see themselves as superior to everyone else. Arondir, however, deviates in a minor way. His heart has been stolen by Bronwyn, a human healer in among the towns he patrols.
Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards)
Some individuals may be acquainted with elven craftspeople, while others may not. Celebrimbor is one such person. An expert elf craftsman, he becomes friends with Elrond and, eventually, the dwarves while residing in Eregion. Those familiar with Tolkien’s works will be aware that Celebrimbor is planning something sinister.
Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson)
Nmenor coming to life on Galadriel’s journeys is sure to be a thrilling part of The Rings of Power. This island is ruled by half-elves, and in the timeframe of the program, Mriel is the queen. Everything seems fantastic (your Amazon budget has never been more worthwhile), but is danger brewing? It seems safe to answer yes, given the show’s overall tone.
