What Does It Mean to Pass the CCIE Exam?

This article aims to summarize the CCIE experience in the past year, and also serve as a reference for those CCIEs without work experience who have not yet participated in the work.

In 2003, I went to university, majored in computer network, and was required to take the CCNA course of Cisco Network Academy. Since then, I have embarked on the road of Cisco certification. I learned CCNP with a group of classmates during my vacation.

I think, after taking the CCIE exam, no matter how well you study, it doesn’t mean that you are a good CCIE, but what does CCIE really do? In layman’s terms, it is to do after-sales, do debugging, do large-scale Internet debugging, and troubleshoot. If I am wrong, please correct me, I will correct it immediately. If you have good eloquence and good theoretical knowledge, then you can communicate well with customers, you can talk about bids, and you can do employee training; if you are good at writing, you can make beautiful plans, beautiful bidding documents, of course these can be improved through exercise. If you have done after-sales and engineering, when you survey the site, you will consider a lot of things during construction, and your thinking will be much broader. And interpersonal relationships are very important, whether it is with colleagues or with leaders, I am not encouraging everyone to flatter, I am very disgusted with people who are flattering. Just treat colleagues and leaders as friends. Another point is very important, I think as a CCIE, you should understand the general wiring, understand the optical fiber. Otherwise, you don’t even know what kind of fiber optic connector is used for which module, isn’t it too embarrassing?

It is best to familiarize yourself with the Cisco product manual before starting work. If you look carefully, you will find that you don’t need anyone to tell you, you can understand it. Just be careful. Finally, the most important point is that there is no end to learning. Don’t just limit yourself to CCIE, be bound by CCIE, and go beyond CCIE. After-sales must be done. If you don’t do after-sales, you don’t understand engineering and pre-sales. If you have the ability, you must develop pre-sales and management. I wish all CCIEs with a lot of salary, and I wish all prospective CCIEs to pass as soon as possible and join the ranks of CCIEs.
