Dress Like Royalty With These Luxury Watches

Have you always wanted to dress like Royalty or wondered what Royalty likes to wear on their wrists? Well, you’re in the right place for an answer. We’re going to break down the timepieces of your favourite members of the British Royal family from Prince Harry to the Duchess of Cambridge, we’ve got it covered.
Prince William, Omega Seamaster
Prince William has been spotted time after time wearing the exact same timepiece – the Omega Seamaster. It has been rumoured that this watch was a gift from his late mother, Princess Diana so it is an extremely sentimental accessory for the Prince. His Omega Seamaster is actually rather understated for a member of the Royal family, but it makes sense for Prince William to wear this timepiece as it can be worn for pretty much any event. The Omega Seamaster was also on the Prince’s wrist for his iconic wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011.
Prince Harry, Rolex Explorer II
Prince Harry has been seen wearing his Rolex Explorer II. It is thought he chose the Rolex Explorer over any of his previous because of the robustness of this timepiece. Out of all the Royals, Prince Harry is the most involved with the military, after he served in Afghanistan and was promoted to captain there.
Rolex made their Explorer watches to be able to withstand everything the elements can throw at you. From the sea to high altitudes, this watch will assist you through it all. Harry’s Rolex Explorer is a limited edition model, as it was made as part of a special order of 48 samples that were given to his Apache helicopter regiment.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Cartier Ballon Bleu
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge has a stainless steel silver Cartier Ballon Bleu watch in the 33mm size. Cartier does make their Ballon Bleu watches in a variety of sizes with different movements (including both the quartz and mechanical versions). Kate’s style tends to be very traditional and timeless, which could explain why her Ballon Bleu is one of the most modest in the Cartier collection. Arguably, this is what makes this watch so popular, and so sought after on the resale market. Also, the Ballon Bleu is unlike any other watch thanks to its case shape, which is reminiscent of an inflated balloon (as the name suggests) and the cabochon-topped crown looks like it is in mid-air.
Meghan Markle, Cartier Tank
Meghan Markle is so much of a Cartier Tank enthusiast that she actually owns two. She still wears both of her Cartier Tanks to this day. The first watch is her own, and she bought it as a present for herself while she was starring in the popular TV show ‘Suits.’ She even engraved the back of her two-tone Cartier Tank watch with ‘to MM, from MM.’ Meghan’s second Cartier Tank timepiece belonged to the late Princess Diana. Rumour has it that this watch was originally given to Prince William after his mother’s death in 1997, but he ended up giving it to Harry as an exchange for Kate Middleton’s engagement ring. It is assumed that Prince Harry gave her this watch as a gift. In 2021, Meghan wore Princess Diana’s Cartier bracelet for her infamous Oprah Winfrey interview. This shows she prefers sentiment over what’s ‘on-trend’ in her accessory choices.
Prince Charles, Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph
Although you may not recognise the brand Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronograph, like you would recognise Rolex or Omega, that doesn’t mean their watches aren’t up to scratch. In fact, Parmigiani is one of the ‘best-kept secrets’ among watch enthusiasts. Prince Charles’ watch itself is particularly handsome and tells a pretty interesting story (and of course, it is fit for a king!) It is 39mm in diameter and features two bold blue hands. This timepiece also has three subdials, a ridged double bezel and exceptional blue detailing on the crown. It’s completely unique to most watches.
Give your wardrobe that ‘royal’ edge
If you feel like your wardrobe is missing something, maybe it is missing that ‘royal’ edge. Next time you are thinking about treating yourself to a new timepiece, why not opt for one which is worn by your favourite Royal? After all, if it is fit for a Princess, then it is fit for you.
