Hyundai Construction Equipment India Launches Next-gen Electric Forklift

Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) India has remained a coveted manufacturer of the best construction equipment. Since its inception in 2008, it has become a leading manufacturer of excavators and other construction machinery in India. Recently, Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE) India launched the next-gen electric forklift B-X in the Indian market. As per the company, B-X will be ideal for warehouse loading and unloading applications.

The company released the specs for this new forklift to offer a glimpse into their latest engineering marvel. With an all-new design, the B-X forklift weighs 2.5 tones with a short charging time. By utilizing lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries for the first time in the B-X series, Hyundai CE claims it is determined to redefine norms for small-electric-forklift markets, where cost-effectiveness is crucial. Lead-acid batteries, generally used in conventional electric forklifts, require more time to charge, while LFP batteries produce more power. They are appropriate for heavy loads and extended operation hours.

Hyundai Construction Equipment has increased driving convenience for this series. In order to ensure an internal structure that can support continuous operation, the ergonomics of the driver’s seat design and the air-conditioning and heating features were enhanced. Additionally, it enables side battery withdrawal, which improves maintenance simplicity. Traditional electric forklifts require cranes to remove batteries, but the B-X Series enables safer and easier removal of batteries from the side using forklifts or hand pallets.

The Hyundai Genuine “first of its kind in the world” hydro fuel cell system is installed on the mid-to-large forklift. When its hydrogen fuel cell is charged, the device can lift upto 5 tonnes of freight and run for one shift operation. Hyundai CE announced in August that it would develop forklifts powered by hydrogen fuel cells from South Korean manufacturer S-Fuelcell Co. By 2023, the companies plan to commercialize the 1- to 3-ton forklifts. With the launch of this new Hyundai electric forklift, the company is targeting the eco-friendly logistics industry.
