Based on Sherryl Woods’ books, Sweet Magnolias takes place in the small town of Serenity, South Carolina, and follows the lives of three friends Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen (played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley, respectively), as they navigate the complexities of relationships, family and career.
Maddie is a newly divorced mother, with a teenage son and a young daughter, who now demands your full attention. In addition, she has to deal with the gossip that runs through the small town about the fact that her ex-husband left her for a younger woman, who is pregnant. Maddie finds herself a little clueless about how to occupy her single life and relies on her friends Dana Sue, a successful cook and restaurant owner, and Helen, a highly sought after lawyer.
The main cast of Sweet Magnolias also includes Chris Klein, Jamie Lynn Spears, Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, Carson Rowland, and Justin Bruening.
Due to the current pandemic situation, there is no forecast for the debut of Season 2 of Sweet Magnolias.
