Netflix has announced the renewal for season 2 of ‘Sweet Magnolias’ (‘Sweet Magnolias’), the adaptation of the series of homonymous novels written by the prolific Sherryl Woods.
Developed for television by Sheryl J. Anderson, this romantic drama follows the lives, friendship, and love affairs of three friends who live in Serenity, a small town in South Carolina. These are Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott), and Helen (Heather Headley).
Logan Allen, Chris Klein, Justin Bruening, Anneliese Judge, and Carson Rowland round out the cast of a series whose first season ended on a major cliffhanger.
Released with considerable success on Netflix in mid-May, ‘Sweet Magnolias’ is part of the grid of romantic novel adaptations, with a cut similar to that of ‘A Place to Dream’ (‘Virgin River’), whose second season was planned for this 2020.
