What Can We Expect From The Sequel Of The Prom?
Dee and Barry open their new Broadway show but receive horrible reviews. So they drown their sorrows in alcohol with their colleagues and friends, Angie and Trent. Angie then reads Emma Nolan’s story on Twitter. The teenager just wants to go to prom with her girlfriend. But Mrs. Greene and the Parent Teacher Association are against it.
In fact, they have decided to cancel the event entirely. So they travel to Edgewater, Indiana, hoping to get positive publicity by helping Emma. Not surprisingly, her misguided efforts don’t help the protagonist in her situation.
However, the group refuses to take no for an answer, and, with Tom’s help, they try to make their dreams come true. In the sequel to The Prom, it would be great to see Emma, Dee Dee, Barry, and the others helping children in the LGBTQ community in a more proactive way. Although the script could go in many directions, we think it would be nice to feature various stories of teens from the LGBTQIA + community who are struggling with their own identity. The group could not only help these young people. But also to continue making the different communities tolerant and accepting in the process.
Who Could See At The Casting?
Meryl Streep plays Dee Dee Allen. A beloved Broadway star who receives unfavorable reviews for her new play based on the life of Eleanor Roosevelt. James Corden plays her teammate, Barry Glickman. Nicole Kidman is Angie Dickinson, while Andrew Rannells is Trent Oliver. The four travel to Edgewater, Indiana, to plead the Emma Nolan case and exchange positive publicity. Jo Ellen Pellman is the one who considers herself the lesbian protagonist.
Keegan-Michael Key is seen as Emma’s director, Tom Hawkins. Ariana DeBose plays the role of Alyssa Greene, the teenager’s girlfriend. Kerry Washington is seen as Alyssa’s mother, Mrs. Greene, who runs the Parent-Teacher Association. She also doesn’t know that Emma is dating her daughter. We hope everyone will reprise their roles if The Prom 2 comes out on Netflix.
