Truth Social App new social media platform

Former President Donald Trump announced Wednesday his plans to launch Truth Social, a social media platform he created after being banned from several popular social media sites.

Trump Media and Technology Group released a press statement stating that it had entered a merger deal with Digital World Acquisition Corp. in order to become a publicly-listed company with Trump as its Chairman.

“I am thrilled to send my first TRUTH via TRUTH social very soon. Trump said that TMTG was created with a mission “to give a voice and opportunity to all”.

Trump was removed from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, the three largest social media platforms. He was banned after his supporters stormed Capitol during the Jan. 6, riot. They were concerned that Trump’s presence on social media could incite violence. YouTube claimed that it would lift its ban if the “risk to violence” decreases. Facebook stated that Trump could return to the platform as soon as 2023, and Twitter stated that its ban was permanent.

Trump declared Wednesday that Truth Social would resist the “tyranny” of Big Tech in a statement. The platform will be offered through the Apple Store in a beta version to “invited guests”. It will also be available for download in November. The company anticipates that the full rollout of the platform in the first quarter in 2022.

Trump Media and Technology Group plans to launch a video on-demand service, TMTG+. It will include “non-woke” content.

He launched attacks against critics, and published news about his administration. Trump has been sending out a constant stream press releases with tweet-like statements and updates to supporters and the media since his withdrawal from social media.
