The fifth season of “Rick and Morty” is on its way and showrunners Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland assured fans that they are not late despite the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, they said they are even ahead of schedule, so there is nothing to worry about.
Now More Waiting Time
Fans are sensitive when it comes to “Rick and Morty” release dates because the show has been known for its really long delay. It can be remembered that the fourth installment came after more than two years and fans are telling the showrunners not to keep them waiting that long.
Roiland and Harmon surely listened to them and promised viewers that the long wait will never happen again. Just for season 5 of “Rick and Morty,” the showrunners claimed once again that there won’t be long to wait.
During the recent PaleyFest NY panel for “Rick and Morty,” Dan Harmon gave updates on their progress and shared that they are working on new episodes for season 5. The good news is that they have started work on the sixth installment as well.
He said this was possible because the quarantine actually gave them more time so they could focus more. This means that they are working faster compared to previous seasons.
“We are more on schedule than ever,” Harmon said, according to Syfy Wire, during the event. “It kind of makes you have to focus on the whole process when you no longer have this office environment.”
Spoilers: what to expect in the upcoming season
Harmon also spoke about what viewers can expect in season 5 of “Rick and Morty.” He dropped an important detail and revealed that Morty’s love life will be in focus.
However, fans can’t expect her to be Rebecca because she would be someone else. There’s a bit of a mystery here, as this girl’s identity will only be revealed in “Rick and Morty” season 5. Could it be someone everyone already knows or a new character?
In any case, the clone of Beth will also be addressed in the new season. It was already predicted that Beth from outer space would stay on Earth and they could get closer at some point. However, it has not yet been determined who is the real Beth and who is the cloned one.
Season 5 of “Rick and Morty” is expected to arrive in the first half of 2021 with no set date yet.
