The romantic drama series Sweet Magnolias is returning soon with its new season, and fans can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store. Developed by Sheryl J. Anderson, the show made its official debut on May 19, 2020, and is has officially renewed for season 2.

Production for season 1 took place in Covington, Georgia, on July 8, 2019, and season 1 featured a total of 10 episodes. It was well-received by the public, earning a healthy approval rating of 75% and an overall score of 6 on Rotten Tomatoes.
A few days the future of the show was a bit hazy, however, fans were sure of its return, and in an interview, original author Sherryl Woods revealed, that show has a lot of material from the original novel to cover. According to his interview, Sweet Magnolias Season 1 explored the first three books, and given the history of the original series, Woods believes that the show will go beyond season 2. There are a total of 8 books remaining to play, so it is highly likely for the program to get an official renewal soon.
